Betula

:a genus of trees and shrubs (family Betulaceae) of arctic and temperate regions of the northern hemisphere comprising the birches

--Merriam Webster Dictionary

There is something magical about passing through a grove of birch trees, especially in the winter, when they glisten with snow. For me, the landscapes of Maine have inspired a deep love of nature and desire to protect it.

Join me in my blog, Survive and Thrive, where I tell stories about UMaine students celebrating Maine throughout the winter.
